Golden Point

Privacy Policy

Last updated 27 June 2026

The short version: The Golden Point app runs entirely on your Apple Watch — no accounts, no analytics, nothing leaves your device. This website uses one analytics tool (Google Analytics) to count visits, and only if you accept cookies. That's the extent of it.

This policy explains what Golden Point ("the app", "we", "us") does with information when you use the app and this website. We've written it to describe how things actually work, not to cover ourselves for things we don't do.

01Who this applies to

This policy applies to the Golden Point app for Apple Watch and to this website. It does not apply to Apple's own services (such as the App Store, iCloud or Apple Health) or to Google Analytics, which are governed by Apple's and Google's privacy policies.

02Information the app collects

The Golden Point app is a standalone watchOS app with no companion phone app and no online account. The information it works with is the information you create by scoring matches, and it stays on your watch. Specifically:

  • Match data — the points, games, sets, format and rules of matches you score, plus start and end times and match duration.
  • Statistics derived from your matches — win ratios, weekly and 30-day trends, and recent form, all calculated on your watch from the match data above.
  • App settings — your chosen match format, deuce and tiebreak rules, haptic intensity and workout preference.

This data is created and stored locally on your Apple Watch. We never receive it, because the app has no way to send it to us.

03What the app doesn't collect

We want to be specific here, because it's unusual. The Golden Point app does not:

  • require an account, email address, or sign-in of any kind;
  • contain any analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting SDKs;
  • make any network requests — the app has no servers to talk to;
  • collect your name, location, contacts, or device identifiers for advertising;
  • sell, rent or share personal data with third parties (it has none to share).

04Cookies & website analytics

This section is about this website only — the app itself collects nothing, as described above.

We'd like to know how many people visit goldenpoint.watch and which pages they read, so we can improve it. For that we use Google Analytics (GA4), and it runs only if you choose "Accept" on the cookie banner:

  • If you accept, Google Analytics loads and sets cookies to measure visits — pages viewed, approximate location (country/region, from a truncated IP), and general device and browser type. We only ever see this as aggregated statistics, never as anything that identifies you, and IP addresses are anonymised.
  • If you decline (or ignore the banner), no analytics cookies are set and Google Analytics is never loaded — nothing is sent.
  • We don't use cookies for advertising, and we don't sell or share this data. It's processed by Google as our analytics provider — see Google's privacy policy and the Google Analytics opt-out.

Our legal basis is your consent, which you can change at any time: . The only other thing we store on this site is a small entry in your browser that remembers your cookie choice.

05Where your data is stored

Completed matches are stored on-device using Apple's SwiftData framework. The match currently in progress is saved continuously to a private app-group container so it can be restored if your watch restarts mid-game. All of this lives in the app's protected storage on your Apple Watch.

If you have iCloud backups enabled for your Apple Watch, this on-device data may be included in your encrypted Apple backup, handled entirely by Apple under their terms. We have no access to those backups.

06Apple Health & workouts

Golden Point can optionally record your match as an indoor "Padel" workout in Apple Health. This feature is off until you turn it on in Settings, and the app asks for your permission the first time it's used.

  • When enabled, the app starts a workout session and writes the workout to Apple Health on your device. It may also read workout data to keep the session active on your wrist.
  • This information is managed by Apple Health and stays on your device under your control. We never see it.
  • If you decline Health access, scoring and every other feature still work fully — you simply won't get the workout recording.

You can review or revoke Health permissions at any time in the Apple Health app or your watch's privacy settings.

07Sharing and disclosure

We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers or data brokers. The app collects nothing to share; the website's aggregated analytics are processed only by Google as our provider (see above). We would only ever disclose information if legally compelled to.

08Your choices and control

  • Cookie preferences — accept or decline website analytics at any time via the banner or the link in the Cookies section above.
  • Delete history — "Reset Stats" in Settings deletes all saved match history from your watch.
  • Delete individual matches — swipe to delete any match in History.
  • Remove everything — deleting the app removes all of its local data from your watch.
  • Manage Health data — control workout permissions and recorded workouts in Apple Health.

09Children's privacy

Golden Point is a general-audience sports app and is not directed at children under 13. The app collects no personal information, and the website's optional analytics are aggregated and not used to identify anyone.

10Changes to this policy

If the app or website changes in a way that affects this policy, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will be described clearly rather than buried.
